Islam was introduced to some pockets on the western coast of India by Arab trsders who had been carrying on trade in these regions long before the advent of islam and in the wake of an Arab invasion of Sind led by Muhammad bin Qaim in 712.Muhammad bin Qasim and his successors established a powerful kingdom which now comprises the greater part og south-west Pakistan.
