Faceoff: Netizens debate whether Mughals deserve glorification or not

NEW DELHI. Glorification of Mughal empire in literature, cinema and academia has been a hotly debated topic on social media for quite some time now. The debate got reignited after filmmaker Kabir Khan said that Mughals were one of the original nation builders. Those in favour of Mughal glorification argue that the empire founded by Babur (who hailed from present day Uzbekistan and invaded India in 1526) was full of beautiful architecture and rich heritage. While those against glorification point to the massacres, rapes and conversions carried out by Mughals.
