DESCRIPTION

The 45th Regiment of the Bengal Native Infantry broke into open rebellion at Ferozepur on 18 May 1857. The Sepoys who were captured were sentenced to death by a court-martial. The executions were carried out on 13 June and ten of the prisoners were blown from guns. The Sepoys, according to eye-witness accounts, did not show any signs of fear when facing death.
