Female conjuror in India. 19th-century illustration of a female conjurer (right) in India performing tricks to entertain a man (left). This artwork is from 'Tashrih al-aqvam', an account of the sects, castes and tribes of India. Most of the images show occupations found in the area around Delhi. Completed in 1825, this account was written in Persian by East India Company officer and author Colonel James Skinner (1778-1841).
