Nawab Ahmad Bakhsh of Firozepur, Late Mughal style, c.1810. Inscribed on front in Persian: shabih-i Nawab Ahmad Baksh Khan Firuzpurwala. Ahmad Bakhsh Khan was a distinguished chief who gave assistance to the British during the Maratha war and was rewarded with the districts of Lharu and Firozepur. He was the agent of the Maharaj Rao of Alwar in Delhi and was a great friend of the Charles Metcalfe and William Fraser, with whom he traded in horses bred on his friend James Skinner's estate
