• The Renaissance period of Europe corresponds with the Mughal rule in India
.• It started with Babur defeating Ibrahim Lodi at Panipat in 1526.
• The northern part of India was quickly conquered by the Mughals

 Fatehpur Sikri
• Fatehpur Sikri is a palace complex, built by the Mughal Emperor Jalal’ud-Din
   Muhammad Akbar (reg.1556-1605).
• It was planned as the cultural, commercial and administrative centre of mughal
   empire.
• Fatehpur Sikri is built in red sandstone, and is a beautiful blend of Hindu and
   Islamic architectural elements.
