Disarmament of the 26th Indian regiment at Barrackpore, India. During the Indian Mutiny of 1857. Began as mutiny of sepoys (Indian soldiers of the British East India Company's army on 10 May 1857, in the town of Meerut. Also known as 1857 War of Independence and India 's First War of Independence.
