DESCRIPTION
On 22 September 1857 Captain Hodson secured at Humayun’s-tomb the unconditional surrender of the three princes, Mirza Mughal, Mirza-Khizr-Sultan and Mirza-Abu-Bakr. They were placed in a bullock cart and brought to the city. When the party came near Delhi Gate Hodson shot the princes with his own hand. This cruel act was the prelude to the indiscriminate killings in Delhi by the British troops. Source: Indian History Guy
